Bara Imambara -This Imambara was built by Asaf-ud-Daula in 1784 under the famine relief project. This huge domed hall is 50 meters long and 15 meters high. It is estimated that in those days it cost five to ten lakh rupees to make it. Not only this, even after the completion of this building, the Nawab used to spend four to five lakh rupees annually on its decoration.
It has a world-famous labyrinth, which used to prevent unwanted entrants from forgetting the way. It was built by the Nawab to deal with the famine in the state. There is also a deep well in it.
The Residency - The Residency was built during the reign of Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula. Seeing the convenience of the British, the Nawab settled them on a high mound on the banks of the river. In 1800, the residency was prepared under the rule of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan. Earlier the officers appointed by the East India Company lived in it. This two-storied building made of Lakhori brick and red lime consisted of large verandahs and a portico. There is still a large cellar under the Residency.
